Chicory and Jerusalem Artichoke Extraction of Inulin "Full Membrane Method" Production Process
Project Introduction
Chicory (roots) and Jerusalem artichoke (tubers) are the main natural sources of inulin (chicory inulin content 20%-30%, Jerusalem artichoke 15%-20%). Inulin is a fructose polymer linked by β-2,1 glycosidic bonds (with one glucose residue at the end, molecular weight 3000-50000 Da), possessing prebiotic and low-calorie properties, widely used in food and health products. The "full membrane method" process uses ultrafiltration, nanofiltration, and other membrane technologies to replace traditional processes (such as alcohol precipitation, centrifugation, ion exchange, and reduced-pressure concentration), achieving efficient extraction, purification, and concentration of inulin, with advantages like high purity, low energy consumption, and no chemical pollution.
Technical Parameters
· Material Type: Chicory and Jerusalem artichoke extract
· Process Adopted: Tubular ultrafiltration membrane clarification + nanofiltration desalination + high-pressure reverse osmosis concentration + nanofiltration monosaccharide removal
· Processing Capacity: 40 m³/h
· Completion Date: 2010
