First shipment! Plum Membrane 2,200 m³/d leachate treatment equipment has set off for Hong Kong, stepping up efforts to promote green governance in the Greater Bay Area.

The 2,200 m³/d leachate full-volume treatment membrane system for the Anhui Plum Membrane Hong Kong Project has been officially shipped, paving the way for a new journey of solid waste management and synergistic environmental protection in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
On December 3, Anhui Plum Membrane Technology Co., Ltd. successfully completed the initial shipment preparation for a full-scale membrane system—custom-designed for a Hong Kong project—that is capable of treating 2,200 m³/d of leachate and concentrate. This shipment covers multiple sets of key equipment, including the core PEK tubular membrane system. Several heavy-duty van trucks departed simultaneously, with the entire transportation route spanning approximately 1,800 kilometers. The shipment is expected to arrive at the Hong Kong project site within five working days, marking a crucial step forward in bringing this project to fruition and putting it into operation.
Previously, the system has undergone Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) involving expert representatives from ATAL, HKRRP, ARUP, VEOLIA, and other organizations, successfully verifying and optimizing its core performance indicators—including reliability, maintainability, and remote operation and maintenance capabilities. The equipment being shipped this time centers around an ultrafiltration (UF) system. To address the highly polluted characteristics of Hong Kong’s leachate, the system employs a combined process featuring PEK tubular membranes paired with crossflow MBR, thereby facilitating the complete treatment of both leachate and concentrate and helping to achieve the goal of nearly zero liquid discharge (ZLD). Moreover, the PEK tubular membranes’ inherent properties—such as oil- and fouling-resistant performance, acid- and alkali-tolerance, and compatibility with chemical cleaning—enable them to handle complex operating conditions while significantly reducing the overall costs associated with subsequent advanced treatment stages. 
After the system is put into operation, it can fully treat 2,200 cubic meters of highly polluted leachate from waste daily—equivalent to reducing the discharge of hazardous waste by roughly one standard Olympic swimming pool (about 2,500 m³). Annually, this will help Hong Kong cut its hazardous waste disposal volume by approximately 800,000 tons and save nearly 100,000 cubic meters of fresh water consumption, injecting dual momentum—“pollution reduction + water conservation”—into local environmental governance.
